Nick Simmister is a highly accomplished professional in the field of petroleum geoscience, currently serving as the Subsurface Manager for Cavitas Energy.  Under his direction, the team has achieved remarkable success in bringing THOR, a groundbreaking downhole heater, from concept to commercial pilot stage.

Nick holds an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Aberdeen University, which he earned with distinction, showcasing his exceptional academic capabilities and commitment to excellence.  He also holds a BSc in Geology and Physical Geography from the University of Edinburgh, where he honed his analytical skills and developed a strong foundation in the earth sciences.

Prior to his current role, Nick gained valuable industry experience as a Production Geologist intern at Shell and as a Petrophysicist intern at Schlumberger.

As a dedicated professional, Nick is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), where he collaborates with industry peers and stays updated on the latest advancements in the field. His passion for innovation and his unwavering commitment to driving progress in the energy sector make him a valuable asset to the Cavitas team.
