Cavitas extends a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team, global agents, and partners who have supported them every step of the way. Starting as a two-person venture, Cavitas has expanded into an small Aberdeen-based team, deploying THOR across multiple regions, including South America and the Middle East. Over the past eight years, Cavitas have developed THOR, a revolutionary downhole thermal heating solution for heavy oil extraction. Initially designed to overcome challenges in the UKCS Bentley field, where conventional steam injection was not viable due to high emissions and operational constraints, THOR has since proven its effectiveness worldwide.

With a patented design, THOR enhances traditional electrical cable heaters by providing greater heat density, improved reliability, and ease of deployment. The system’s compact structure allows for efficient installation and maintenance, ensuring consistent, long-term operation. THOR also significantly reduces emissions, as demonstrated during deployment in California, where it achieved a 95% reduction in carbon output compared to conventional steamflood methods.
