Kuwait Region

Dr. Abed discusses the shift taking place across the Gulf States. Since the 1950s, the region has primarily relied on light oil, but recent years have seen a transition toward heavy oil reserves as light oil production declines. Traditionally, steam injection was the only method available, an option that required costly infrastructure and carried significant environmental impact.

THOR offers a smarter alternative. With precise, remote temperature control during thermal heating, operators can efficiently mobilise heavy oil. In one example, a well that previously produced 27 barrels per day under cold production increased output to 71 barrels per day with THOR’s innovative heating system.

Namibia Region

In Namibia, Mujame highlights how THOR is addressing the high costs and inefficiencies of underperforming mature wells. Many of these wells produce below capacity due to poor reservoir stimulation and limited access to enhanced recovery technology. THOR provides a transformative solution mobilising oil, improving flow rates, and restoring economic viability to previously unproductive fields.

East Africa Region

Hear from Mohamed in Sudan, where a pilot deployment of THOR is underway in existing wells with extremely high viscosity. The goal is to demonstrate how THOR delivers a cost-effective, high-production, and low-emission approach to enhanced oil recovery setting a new benchmark for efficiency in the region.
